Historic Whitechapel Crossrail entrance re-opens

Whitechapel cross rail entrance has re-opened following improvements to the station and entrance including step free access and significant works to modernise the station. The redevelopment of Whitechapel station plays a role in transforming travel across London, whilst also directly supporting the wider regeneration in the local area through job creation opportunities; this has been an exciting project for Adept to be involved with.

Adept worked with BBMV JV (Balfour Beatty, Vinci and Morgan Sindall) to design, supply and install partitions, ceilings, passive fire protection and fire rated hoardings to the new station entrance, concourse, and staff accommodation blocks. The new stations on the transformational Elizabeth line are much larger than many other central London stations due to the length of the new trains and the new concourse has a distinctive modern look comprising of glass and a green sedum plant roof providing environmental benefits.
