London Underground Northern Line extension comes into Service

The Northern Line Extension is a new addition to London’s Underground network, the new line extends the Charing Cross branch of the line from Kennington to a new terminus station at Battersea Power Station and includes a new intermediate station at Nine Elms. and two new shafts in Kennington for ventilation and evacuation purposes.

This has been a complex and rewarding engineering project for Adept; being involved in the design, supply and installation of passive fire protection systems , fire rated walls and ceiling and fire rated encasements throughout both new stations and shafts.

The Northern Line Extension opened to passengers on 20 September 2021, making it possible to travel from Battersea to the west end of London in just 15 minutes.
