Exhibiting at UKCW with Delta Fire Engineering Ltd

In October Adept successfully collaborated with fire management specialists Delta Fire Engineering Ltd  deltafireengineering.co.uk at UK Construction Week 2024 (UKCW) in Birmingham. www.ukconstructionweek.com.

Adept’s team created two interactive fire-stopping walls for Delta’s stand at the exhibition, which attracts over 20,000 visitors across three days.

Professionals from across the construction sector were invited to compare the two walls. Delta Fire Engineering Ltd’s Founder and Director Joe Hart said “the mocked-up walls are really cool things. Both are built to the same spec, but one is built well and the other badly – it’s sloppy, and actually replicates what we often find in real buildings.

“We set it up as a ‘spot the difference’ game, with seven things for people to find. It was fantastic because there was loads of interaction as people spent time looking for defects on the walls, and it was a really effective tool for learning.”

Alicia Harfield, Delta Fire Engineering Ltd’s Senior Fire Safety Consultant, added “a surprising number of people did not correctly guess which was the ‘good’ wall, and more than half couldn’t find all seven faults.

“More often than not, the walls I see on site visits are like the badly built wall. Fire engineering is a richly interdisciplinary field, and our aim is for everyone involved to understand why it is so crucial for the right processes to be followed.”

The interactive fire-stopping walls will next feature in Delta’s upcoming series of training courses. Held both in London and Preston, the 12 CPD courses begin in January 2025 and will offer engineers, installers and developers valuable hands-on experience with a focus on the implementation of fire-prevention technology.

Adept’s Construction Director  Mark Ledger said “We’re proud to have collaborated on such engaging and useful content at the exhibition.

“Thanks to the team who created and delivered the mock ups, working to such a tight deadline; Adam Wojtach (construction manager), Ivo Pavlov (senior firestopper), Dimitar Hristov and Georgi Georgiev (fitters), Veselin Vasiliev (driver to Birmingham).”
