09 Apr Commencement of Fire Stopping Spray Installation at HS2 Westgate Headhouse
Adept Contracts Ltd has commenced construction of the Fire Stopping Spray Installation at the HS2 Westgate Headhouse, following a rigorous design process involving calculation of coating loads, coordination with other Subcontractors, and extensive BIM modelling. The approved design complies with the latest Passive Fire Protection British Standards, as well as guidance from the Passive Fire Protection Forum (PFPF) and the Association of Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).
Adept is utilising Grace Monokote MK6 (a non-reactive coating) for fireproofing structural steel to achieve a fire rating of EI120. Additionally, Sherwin Williams Firetex FX6010 intumescent paint will be applied in select areas to complete the Fire Assurance for the works.
Special thanks to John Dalton and Tanguy Godard for their outstanding contributions. Thank you also to the Adept Design Division and site team leaders, Joe Byrnes and Dumitru, for their successful benchmark pass. Adept’s Design Team is bringing the Design to a completion for more Assets on this project, and within the coming months, construction is expected to commence these further Assets.
